New Characters | Standard Characters
The usuals are in the line-up as usual... Mario, Luigi... blah, blah... but wait. There are some non-Nintendo characters appearing in a Mario Kart game, for the first ever time! That's right, when Namco developed this game they gave some of their characters a chance to compete including the yellow ball pill eating fatt-ass Pacman, as well as his girl and a scary ghost called Blinky!
New Characters
Pacman
You know Pacman. Of course you do. You're dad should if you don't. He's the famous and legendary ball who goes around mazes eating power pills to energise himself up ready to pounce and eat the horrible ghosts who are after him. This guy appears to test Mario with his driving skills. If you see a yellow ball driving down the road in a kart, you know who it is.
Ms. Pacman
It just looks like Pacman with a ribbon and some lipstick on I know. Every hero has to have a girlfriend don't they, and in this case its presumably Ms. Pacman. She also had her own games, which are similar to Pacman's maze; ghost dodging; power-pill eating game. In her games there are different mazes, and the ghosts don't run in a certain pattern; they move randomly.
Blinky
This is the bad character in the Pac-man series. There are 4 ghosts and this is one of them. I can't blame him; if a yellow ball came munching on my mates I'll have something to say. What I don't understand, is how can this ghost even drive if this ghost doesn't even have any legs to hold the gas? Anyhoo, this is the quickest ghost in the Pacman series and is probably the most popular. Have one blink and this ghost is gone... "Blinky"; the name get it... Nevermind.

Each character in this game has their own special item, if they are able to complete a challenge given after racing 4 races in one stage. For example, Pacman can use an Invincible pill, Rally-X, Pooka or a Galaga Boss. Bowser on the other hand could be given a thwomp to squash his opponents into the floor. That's gotta hurt!
