Characters

There are a variety of characters in Double Dash and each pair has the same special item. It is best to find your character pairing, so you can choose which kart you want. It is best to have a chosen kart before choosing your characters.

Standard Characters

Mario & Luigi

Weight: Medium & Medium | Special Item: Fireball
These brothers are the heros of the Mushroom Kingdom. They are both medium meaning that they are both average. Their special item is the fireball which burns and spins their opponents out of control. Their default kart is the Red Fire.

Peach & Daisy

Weight: Medium & Medium | Special Item: Heart
These princesses should not be taken lightly. They are both classed middleweight, so like Mario and Luigi they have average statistics. Their special item is a heart. This heart can be used to take items from opponents when they contact them. Their default car is the ‘Heart Coach’.

Yoshi & Birdo

Weight: Medium & Medium | Special Item: Yoshi/ Birdo Egg
Yoshi and Birdo each are middleweight characters. Their special item is an egg which acts as a homing missle; on collision it scatters random items on the course. Their default kart is ‘Turbo Yoshi’.

Baby Mario & Baby Luigi

Weight: Light & Light | Special Item: Chain Chomp
These characters are both lightweight and can only drive ‘light-weighted’ karts. Their special item is a ‘Chain Chomp’ which attaches to the kart, drags them along and eats anyone that gets in the way. Their choice of kart is the ‘Goo Goo Buggy’.

Koopa & Paratroopa

Weight: Light & Light | Special Item: Three Green/ Red Shells
Koopa and Paratroopa first both appeared in ‘Super Mario Bros’. Since then, they both have developed into major characters. Koopa Troopa first made a karting appearance in the first Mario Kart game; Super Mario Kart. This is Paratroopa’s first time on the track. Both lightweight characters have three green or red shells as their special item; their kart is the ‘Koopa Dasher’.

Donkey Kong & Diddy Kong

Weight: Heavy & Light | Special Item: Giant Banana
Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are both famous for their platformer ‘Donkey Kong Country’. They have always made an awesome team and together they have re-united to race off They have different weights. Donkey is obviously the heavier character. Their special item is a giant banana and their kart is the ‘DK Jumbo’.

Bowser & Bowser Jr.

Weight: Heavy & Light | Special Item: Bowser Shell
Both characters are enemies of Mario and Baby Mario. Bowser is a heavyweight, whereas Bowser Jr. is a lightweight. Their special item is a ‘Bowser Shell’ which is a big spiky shell which crushes anyone in the way. Their kart is the ‘Koopa King’.

Wario & Waluigi

Weight: Heavy & Medium | Special Item: Bob-Omb
Wario; Mario’s “evil twin” and his brother Waluigi join forces. Their special item, the ‘bob-omb’ which has always been a standard item is now theirs only and blows up anyone in its explosion. Their pimped out wagon is known as the ‘Wario Car’.
