Battle Mode

Here are some tips to help you throughout Battle Mode.

Cookie Land

ScreenshotThis is quite a small arena. Use the boundaries and walls to your advantage, by planting bananas and fake item boxes in the narrow pathways. Also shoot in narrow areas; the shells are always likely to hit someone as they rebound off the boundaries at a fast rate. As its a circular arenamake sure you stay behind your opponent so they’re your prey.

Block Fort

ScreenshotUse the four blocks to dodge items. Remember that there is a yellow block in this city with a small road that can be driven through; it has a double item. To stop others from accessing this area you could block the path with fake item boxes or bananas.

Nintendo Gamecube

ScreenshotA flat course with nowhere to hide. So you have to immediately try and get the first weapon, and shoot as fast as possible. Remember you can use the walls to make shells bounce off. You never know where they’ll end up. Always try and drive through all of the item boxes in the middle of the arena to stop opponents grabbing them.

Pipe Plaza

ScreenshotA magical course; remember you can use the pipes to avoid weapons. A cheat method is to wait at the pipes if someone has a red shell awaiting to hit you. If they shoot you as you enter the pipe. You’ll get hit, but you won’t lose a balloon. It is also best to be on the top floor so you can shoot from above. Place bananas where you end up after exiting a pipe, so players can’t avoid them when they leave the pipe. A sneaky tactic; they’ll land right on the banana or fake item box.

Luigi’s Mansion

A large course inspired by the game Luigi’s Mansion. There are different levels in the mansion, the safest place to be is on the roof; this way you can shoot from above downwards. Always keep on the move as it is sometimes hard to find other players. Another tactic is to hide away in the corner near to where you start and shoot opponents who come from above or from downstairs. Use the map to locate others (or just look at their part of the screen). There are quite a few narrow corriders so hitting some green shells in between them will likely hit opponents. Placing smart bananas in these corridors is also a good tactic as well of course.

Tilt-A-Kart

This stage tilts a lot, so you must be aware of the direction it tilts in so you don’t fall off. Try not to stay too close to the edge or you may fall off. The item boxes that are scattered around the stage are likely to roll into you, so there is no need to chase an item box most of the time. You will see shadows sometimes which will indicate where new item boxes will land.
