Courses

The courses operate differently to the other Mario Kart games. There are 6 tracks in all, however within their own cup. Each cup has the same track 4 times, with some alterations. The first two races have different lap amounts and the third and 4th race are played in mirror. The last 2 tracks can only be unlocked after completing the first two. The opponents seem to get slightly harder after every race.

Special Challenges

At the end of each Cup, you will receive a special challenge. Each challenge is different and has to be completed in a certain time limit:

  • Driving a watermelon to the finish line
  • Smacking down a tortoise
  • Driving in reverse whilst dodging scattered bananas
  • Hopping over electrical wires that slow you down if touched
  • Defeating Bowser platform
  • Challenging a robot kart to the finish line

The challenge must be completed for the game to acknowledge that the player has successfully completed the Cup. Also, the player will receive a special item to use in future races for completing the challenge.

After all stages/courses have been cleared 6 new special stages will open, all identical to the previous ones; however with much harder and skilled opponents.

Courses

Mario Stage

Mario Highway

  • Mario Highway
  • Mario Beach

Traditional beginner circuit. A very simple and cool stage.

Donkey Kong Stage

Donkey Kong Jungle

  • Donkey Kong Jungle
  • Banana Ruins

A jungle-themed stage enriched with the bananas and trees that you see in Donkey Kong games.

Wario Stage

Diamond City

  • Diamond City
  • Snow Panic

A nice stage, as you drive through the town then back into reality.

Bowser Stage

Bowser's Castle

  • Bowser’s Castle
  • Castle Wall

The usual Bowser Castle. Similar to the Double Dash and DS version of Bowser Castle, with some horrid turns to steer around.

Pacman Stage

Pac-Mountain

  • Pac-Mountain
  • Pac-Labryinth

Pac-man themed stage showing a lot of colour.

Rainbow Stage

Rainbow Coaster

  • Rainbow Coaster
  • Rainbow Downhill

Very colourful and long tracks sparkled with the usual Rainbow flavour tasted in other Mario Kart games.

Additional Information

If the player manages to complete all Special Stages, 50cc is cleared and 150cc is opened! Now the colours of all karts will change gold to represent the level you are at. The speed is a lot higher than 50cc therefore requires better handling skills. Coins are scattered across the course just like Super Mario Kart. Collecting these coins will increase the speed of your character’s kart.
