Lakitu Lakitu

Iconic for being the guy who starts the countdown in the Mario Kart series and the one who gets you out of dangerous zones, a red shelled Lakitu makes an appearance behind the wheel, most likely being a lightweight character.

Metal Mario Metal Mario

Metal Mario first appeared in Super Mario 64, after Mario hit the Metal Cap. He appears to be in the heavyweight category.

Shy Guy 030

Shy Guy did appear in Mario Kart DS, however he was not a driver that you could select – you only were able to play as Shy Guy if you used the DS Download feature to play from someone else who owned Mario Kart. Shy Guy now joins as a fully fledged playable character.

Wiggler

Wiggler first appeared in Super Mario World and has appeared in many of the 2D and 3d Super Mario games.

Honey Queen

First appeared in Super Mario Galaxy and made another appearance in its sequel; this is her first appearance outside of the Galaxy series.
