New Mario Kart 7 Trailer
Oct 23rd, 2011, No Comments
A new Mario Kart 7 trailer has been released showing some new footage, as showcased by Official Nintendo Magazine UK.
In addition to this, the Japanese Mario Kart 7 website has released information on the tracks, characters and items in the game: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/amkj/. They are keeping 2 characters secret.
Nintendo World Report has translated this information and have put information about it on their site, which can be seen here along with some videos here.
Information on the blue shell and Lucky 7 powerup has also been cleared up. The blue shell moves along the ground hurting everyone in the way until it reaches the player in first position and then flies into the air and explodes them. The Lucky 7 on the other hand surrounds the player with 7 different items; however the player can only use one item at a time.
Mario Kart 7 online and StreetPass
Oct 22nd, 2011, No Comments
Nintendo announced at their recent 3DS focused press conference about Mario Kart 7′s online features. The game will support 8 players whilst retaining 60 FPS. Also, players will be able to create “communities” to allow groups of friends to race against. The StreetPass feature will basically collect data from other players when passing them. This includes their win/loss records and ghost data. You will then be able to race against their Mii ghosts. Players will also be able to race against 7 ghosts at a time, instead of the usual 1.
SpotPass will allow players to download daily ghost data. In addition to this, similar to the Wii’s Mario Kart Wii channel, there will also be a Mario Kart 7 channel, where you can select a player’s data and then race them online.
Similar to Mario Kart DS, players who do not have their own Mario Kart 7 game will be able to race via Download Play, restricting players to choose Shy Guy and only offering a limited number of kart customisations.

A successful blue shell dodge can be accomplished by doing the following:
- When you hear the blue shell, get ready by performing a powerslide
- Wait for the blue shell to circle and listen to the noise it makes carefully
- Once the blue shell starts to home in – it quietens, indicating the moment where you should release the boost and hop
